Tach landed in our store in April, and the response has been just as we predicted - you guys are loving it! We thought we’d take the time to unpack the brand a bit and show you why a piece by Tach is one to be treasured.
Tach was created by three Uruguayan sisters, Anette, Patricia, and Sabrina Tachdijan (hence the name Tach). Having been born into a family of creatives (their father designed children's clothing and their grandfather made shoes) they ventured on their own journey to create vintage-inspired clothing, dreaming up pieces reminiscent of their childhood.
With bright colours, unique textures, and intricate knits, Tach pays homage to the art of hand embroidery and crochet which is rare in the current fashion industry.
One of the many things that make Tach so special is each piece is designed and created by locals in Uruguay, in a bid to keep the struggling textile industry alive.
Every garment is hand-knitted, embroidered, crocheted, or finished by women in their homes-keeping the art form alive and in a fair trade environment.
You’ll find Tach in-store and online exclusively at Uncommon in New Zealand. We are so excited to have the brand in our store and look forward to welcoming more Tach soon!
